Galettes des Rois
*Available now for pre-orders for Dec. 30th through Jan. 22nd* Flaky puff pastry crust with a moist frangipane, or almond cream filling, this mildly sweet and moist cake (think: almond croissant in cake form”) comes with a rich history celebrating the Epiphany and la fève, a hidden favor inside the cake. Whoever finds it is King for a day! (each serves 6-8 persons)
A little more background: The Galette des Rois (or “King’s Cake”) is a traditional French cake that celebrates the Epiphany (which starts January 6th), or the day when the Three Kings visited Baby Jesus. The season for Galette des Rois lasts from Twelfth Night to Mardi Gras.
Please do not refrigerate as the humidity causes the galette to become stale. Keep at room temperature and consume within 24 hours of purchase.
